Is our Turkey wedding legal in the UK?
Your wedding in Turkey is completely legal and recognised by UK law, the registration of the marriage will take place at the Honorary British consulate in Fethiye where a marriage certificate will be issued.
What are the minimum & maximum guest numbers?
For our venues there is no minimum number of guests. Some of our venues have a maximum eg: the gulets. If you are planning a wedding with a party of over 70 please contact us for advice on the best venues to accommodate your group.
What documents do we need for a wedding in Turkey and do we send them in advance?
We recommend that you send the scanned e-mailed documentation 6 weeks prior to your wedding date so we can verify that the details are correct. Can we choose the date and time of our marriage?
Weddings in Turkey are popular that all dates fill very quickly; it is advisable to book early. Please advise the Exquisite Weddings Turkey team on three different dates and we will do all that we can to secure one of these wedding dates for you. Late Turkey wedding bookings may have to be scheduled for whatever date and time is still available.
How far in advace do we need to book a date & venue?
Weddings in Turkey are extremely popular,so it is advisable to book as far in advance as you can to secure the date & venue that you want. Packages can be adjusted if numbers etc change after you have booked.
What time will we get merried?
Early evening, generally between 5pm & 6pm as the temperatures will be cooler.
How will we understand the ceremony as it will be in Turkish? A translator will repeat the ceremony wording in English.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes. As in the UK, two witnesses must sign your marriage certificate. If you are not having any guests at your wedding, we can arrange for two witnesses for you.
Can we bring our own music?
We suggest that you bring a CD of your own music if you have something special in mind for the walk down the aisle or for after the ceremony, and your first dance. Please give your wedding coordinatior your music at your pre-wedding meeting.
Will there be fresh flowers available in high season?
Turkey offers a wide range of beautiful fresh flowers all year round. Your wedding coordinator will be able to advise you an availability and colours.
Will we able to have an iced wedding cake?
Yes. Please send your wedding coordinator pictures of your designs.
Will you provide transport to the wedding venue?
Some of our packages include transport to the wedding venue. if it is not included please ask your wedding coordinator for prices.
Hair & Beauty - can the stylist provide hairstyles that I require?
Please bring with you a photograph /picture of the style that you require or alternatively our professional & experienced hairdresser can suggest styles for you. A complimentary hair trial is provided (only those included in package) and appointments are arranged for you. Should the mother of the bride or further members of the wedding party require hair & beauty then we can arrange appointments and these will be charged separately.
What if we are non UK passport holders?
The information contained in this website is applicable to UK passport holders only. If you hold a different nationality please contact us & we will endeavour to advise you on what you will need to do to get merried in Turkey. You can also contact the nearest Turkish Consulate or Embassy in your home country for further information. We are happy to arrange weddings etc for non UK passport holders however prices may be adjusted to include any extra administrative work necessary.
